All faculty members attempt hard in laying down strong conceptual foundation amongst its students. The department also takes extra steps to imparting diligent academic training by conducting various programmes such as lecture series on Nobel prize, Invited Talks, Celebrating the various days, Certificate course, Visit of National park and Sanctuary for awareness of Nature Conservation etc.
Programme
An undergraduate course in Zoology, designed according to the CBCS system, offers various combinations of the animal world. The syllabus designed by the BoS in Zoology of the V.N.S.G.U. is followed. The syllabus broadly comprises of various topics like Taxonomy, Evolution, Ethology, Ecology, Forensic Science, Toxicology, Physiology, Genetics, Ichthyology, Economic Zoology, Biochemistry, Histology, Anatomy, Parasitology, Osteology, Entomology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Haematology, Animal diversity (nonchordates and chordates) etc. Certificate Course in Conceptual Foundation in Zoology is offered for the interested students. It also gives awareness towards conservation of Nature, Natural Resources and Living Organisms.
