Report on SSIP and Innovation Festival

SSIP Cell and the Innovation club of P. T. Sarvajanik College of Science, Surat organised an interactive session on “Startup Pe Charcha”. The Chief Guest of the function was Shri Ghanshyam Lukhi, CEO , Tapi Foods, Surat.

The function was declared open by the Principal, Dr. Pruthul Desai, who introduced the guest and stated that the speaker was a person who would be able to talk on not only innovation but also on life skills.

Shri Ghanshyam Lukhi started the discussion with the importance of taking responsibility. He also started an interactive session on goals that students had in their mind. After listening to their desires or wishes, he talked on what mental barriers they would face in achieving their goals. He made the students realise what an asset their ‘gut feeling’ is. He also emphasized on what disturbances they would face in their path and to think beyond visible excuses. He talked on how innovative ideas face a barrier from innovators themselves due to their compartmentalised thinking. He also said that money is a by product of our vision and goal. He laid stress on the fact that enjoying the process of innovation is rather more important.

Shir Ghanshyam Lukhi advised those taking up the start-up journey that the setbacks they faced are the fees for their practical education just like the fees they pay for their school education.

There were lots of questions put up by the student innovators and the hardships they face. Shri Lukhi took time to answer everyone and the satisfaction was evident on the students’ faces.

The programme started at 2:45 pm and ended at 4:30 pm.
